About Us

We at Commonwealth Forward have seen the writing on the wall, or the graffiti at least, for some time now. The headlines have chronicled the story over and over again. “Conservatives: Endangered Species,”  ”Liberalism on the March in (Pick a State),” “Conservatives to be Regionally Secluded.” These are made up, but they aren’t exaggerations.

I have a few goals at Commonwealth Forward. First, I aim to educate individuals in Private Virtue and how conservative principles can be applied to problems in our modern world. There are time honored truths that have been passed on to us by our parents and grandparents, which we will pass on to our children. However, in recent years, those with a more conservative leaning have allowed others to shout them down in the battle over policy and measured progress. I aim to make this no longer the case.

Secondly, I aim for Public Victory. Of particular interest on this blog, will be the discussion surrounding how candidates can take conservative ideas, principles, and themes, and apply them to maintain a winning elections strategy in places where conservative values, once rooted in citizenship and place, have sprung from their roots. I will not limit myself to any particular topics, but I will tend to focus on the real underlying roots to the problems we face, particularly if the conservative movement is to matter again in the public discourse.

Above all, I hope to maintain a level of optimism that will encourage others to join us in actually solving the issues faced by everyday men and women in our communities, as opposed to simply negatively bickering without offering solutions.
